Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has evolved as one of the players who is playing franchise cricket all over the world. The 38-year old doesn’t seem to give up on the sport and has continued to perform well in T20 Cricket.
He recently featured in the Bangladesh Premier League and will also take part in the Pakistan Super League and Indian Premier League in the upcoming days. Having played for a lot of teams since the start of his career in the early 2000s, Watson has played under several captains and he named the best among them.
Watson took a pause while smiling and then said, “That’s actually a very difficult question because I have played under several amazing captains. Watson then went on name MS Dhoni and Rahul Dravid as the best captain he has played under. He also mentioned the name of Ricky Ponting and Shane Warne in the list.
Watson played under Rahul Dravid when he was with Rajasthan Royals back in 2012 and 2013 editions. Watson had made his international debut under Ricky Ponting and went on to play under the Aussie stalwart for close to a decade. Watson is currently with the Chennai Super Kings and always praised MS Dhoni for his captaincy and leadership skills.
Watson has played under Virat Kohli and Steve Smith as well. But, the legendary all-rounder was reluctant in naming the two top batsmen of the world as the best captains he has played under.
