2024 Lancia Ypsilon EV: A Stylish and Sustainable City Car

The Lancia Ypsilon is one of the most iconic and long-lasting models in the Italian automaker’s history. Since its debut in 1985, the Ypsilon has been a popular choice for urban drivers who value style, comfort, and efficiency. Now, the Ypsilon is ready to enter a new era of electrification, as Lancia has teased the all-new 2024 model that will be powered exclusively by batteries.

The 2024 Lancia Ypsilon will feature a bold new look that combines the brand’s heritage with modern design elements. The most striking feature is the Y-shaped digital light signature on the front grille, which is inspired by the Pu+Ra HPE concept that Lancia unveiled in 2022. The light signature will also be present on the rear, creating a distinctive identity for the Ypsilon.

The new Ypsilon will also have a redesigned body that is based on the same platform as the Opel Corsa and the Peugeot e-208. The car will have a sleek and aerodynamic shape, with a longer wheelbase and a lower roofline than the current model. The car will also have a larger and more spacious interior, with a minimalist and elegant dashboard that features a new infotainment system called S.A.L.A. (Sound Air Light Augmentation).

A Limited Edition to Celebrate the Launch

The 2024 Lancia Ypsilon will make its official debut in February 2024, but before that, the automaker will offer a limited edition called Edizione Limitata Cassina. This special version will be a collaboration with the famous Italian furniture brand Cassina, and will feature exclusive materials and colors that reflect the craftsmanship and quality of both companies.

The Edizione Limitata Cassina will have a unique exterior color called Blu Lancia, which is a tribute to the historic hue that adorned many Lancia models in the past. The car will also have bronze accents on the wheels, mirrors, and badges, as well as a Cassina logo on the front fender. The interior will be upholstered in premium leather and wooden trim, with a Cassina signature on the headrests and the dashboard.

The Edizione Limitata Cassina will be available for pre-order starting from December 2023, and will be limited to 500 units worldwide. The price and specifications of this version have not been revealed yet, but they are expected to be higher than the regular Ypsilon.

A Sustainable and Efficient Powertrain

The 2024 Lancia Ypsilon will be available with two powertrain options: a hybrid and an electric. The hybrid version will use a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, which will provide a combined output of 100 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque. The hybrid Ypsilon will have a fuel consumption of 4.5 liters per 100 km and a CO2 emission of 103 grams per km.

The electric version will use a 50 kWh battery pack and a 100 kW electric motor, which will deliver a maximum power of 136 horsepower and a peak torque of 260 Nm. The electric Ypsilon will have a range of 330 km on a single charge, and will be able to recharge up to 80% in 30 minutes using a 100 kW fast charger. The electric Ypsilon will have a top speed of 150 km/h and a 0-100 km/h acceleration of 8.5 seconds.

The 2024 Lancia Ypsilon will also have a number of advanced features that will enhance the driving experience and the safety of the occupants. These include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, rear view camera, wireless smartphone charging, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The 2024 Lancia Ypsilon will be a stylish and sustainable city car that will appeal to drivers who want to combine elegance, comfort, and efficiency. The car will also mark the beginning of a new era for Lancia, which plans to launch three more electric models by 2028, including a flagship fastback called Gamma.
