Casa Ziki: A New Destination for Colorful Home Decor and Local Art in Woodstock

Woodstock, a town known for its artistic and bohemian vibe, has welcomed a new addition to its main street: Casa Ziki, a home decor and gift shop that offers a vibrant and eclectic mix of items from around the world and from local artists. The shop, which opened in 2021, is the second location of the Brooklyn-based brand that started in 2019.

A Passion for Color and Design

The owner and buyer of Casa Ziki, Sylvana Kiss-Zinshtein, has a passion for color and design that stems from her childhood in Israel, where she was exposed to different cultures and styles. She says she loves to travel and discover new things, and she brings that curiosity and enthusiasm to her shop.

“I like to mix and match different elements, like modern and vintage, or organic and geometric. I think it creates a more interesting and dynamic space,” she says. “I also like to support small businesses and artists, both locally and globally, who make unique and beautiful products.”

A Kaleidoscopic Sensory Experience

Casa Ziki offers a wide range of wares, such as organic kitchen textiles, one-of-a-kind ceramics, throw blankets and pillows, handbags and sunglasses, and more, all in vibrant hues that provide a kaleidoscopic sensory experience for shoppers. Some of the items are sourced from places like India, Morocco, Mexico, and Turkey, while others are handmade by local artisans.

The shop also features a rotating display of artworks by local artists of various media, such as paintings, photography, and sculptures. Kiss-Zinshtein says she likes to collaborate with artists and host events, such as art openings and clothing pop-ups.

“I think people come to Woodstock to shop because they want something unique to add to their homes, like art prints, handmade mugs, and items that support artists,” she says. “When people walk in here, they don’t expect to see what they see, which is a really fun, colorful, eclectic mix of objects and art.”

A Dream Come True

Kiss-Zinshtein says opening Casa Ziki in Woodstock was a dream come true for her. She says she fell in love with the town and the Hudson Valley during the pandemic, when she spent a lot of time with her family there. She decided to open a second store upstate right after she had a baby.

“I know that’s a crazy time to do it, but I found an amazing space and felt like I had to take the chance,” she says. “I love being part of this community and meeting so many wonderful people. I feel very lucky and grateful.”

Casa Ziki is located at 86 Mill Hill Road in Woodstock. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
