On Tuesday night, Dancing with the Stars celebrated Disney’s 100th anniversary with a special episode featuring songs and dances inspired by the iconic movies and characters. But the magic was not only on the dance floor, as co-host Julianne Hough seemingly confirmed a rumored romance between one of the couples.
Harry Jowsey, the reality star from Too Hot to Handle, and his pro partner Rylee Arnold, the youngest cast member at 18, have been wowing the judges and the audience with their chemistry and skills. The pair has also been generating a lot of buzz about their off-stage relationship, as fans have noticed their flirty interactions on social media and interviews.
Julianne Hough, who joined the show as a co-host this season, decided to play matchmaker and ask the pair about their ideal date in a fun TikTok video. Harry said he likes daytime activities, while Rylee prefers a night in. Julianne then joked, “You guys can’t go on a date together,” implying that they have different preferences.
Harry and Rylee Dance to a Telling Song Choice
The TikTok video was not the only hint that Julianne dropped about Harry and Rylee’s romance. During the live show, she also called them “lovebirds” after their performance. The couple danced a contemporary routine to “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion King, which is a song about two friends who realize they are in love.
The dance was praised by the judges for its emotion and technique. Derek Hough, Julianne’s brother and one of the judges, said it was “beautiful” and “stunning.” Bruno Tonioli said it was “a contemporary masterpiece.” Carrie Ann Inaba said it was “the most touching dance of the night.” The couple received a score of 27 out of 30, which tied them for second place on the leaderboard.
Harry and Rylee Address the Romance Rumors
After their dance, Harry and Rylee spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the romance rumors. Harry gave a cryptic answer, saying, “If something happens, something happens.” He also said that he does not want to put pressure on Rylee, who is experiencing her first season on DWTS. “I just think that we’re trying to focus on the dancing and get good at it, and everyone’s got all crazy theories,” he said. “But, yeah, I don’t know. We’re just focusing on the dance and just enjoying being together.”
Rylee also said that they are just friends and partners, but she admitted that they have a lot in common. “We’re both very goofy. We both love to have fun. We both love Disney. We both love food. We both love naps,” she said. She also said that Harry is very supportive and encouraging of her. “He always makes me feel good about myself,” she said.
The pair will continue to dance together on DWTS, which airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Fans will have to wait and see if their friendship will blossom into something more.
