Invictus Games: A Cause Close to Harry and Meghan’s Hearts

The Invictus Games are a multi-sport event that showcases the resilience and courage of those who have served their countries and faced life-changing injuries or illnesses. The games aim to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding and respect for the armed forces.

Prince Harry, who served in the British Army for 10 years and completed two tours in Afghanistan, launched the Invictus Games in 2014 in London. Since then, the games have been held in Orlando (2016), Toronto (2017), Sydney (2018), and Düsseldorf (2023). The next edition of the games will take place in The Hague in May 2022, after being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meghan Markle has also been a strong supporter of the Invictus Games, and made her first public appearance with Harry at the 2017 games in Toronto, where she lived while filming the TV show Suits. The couple also attended the 2018 games in Sydney, where they announced that they were expecting their first child, Archie.
