Rocksteady Studios, the developer of the acclaimed Batman: Arkham series, has asked players to avoid leaking any information about their upcoming game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The game is set to release in 2023 and will feature four playable characters: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark. The game will also allow online co-op for up to four players.
The request came after a user on Reddit claimed to have participated in a playtest of the game and shared some details about the gameplay, graphics, and story. The user also posted a screenshot of the game’s title screen, which showed the Suicide Squad logo and the subtitle “Kill the Justice League”. The user claimed that the game was “amazing” and that it had a “dark and gritty” tone.
Rocksteady Studios responded to the leak by tweeting: “We know you’re all excited to see more of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but please don’t share any unauthorized information or footage of the game. We’re working hard to make this the best game possible for you, and we appreciate your patience and support.”
The tweet also included a link to the official trailer of the game, which was revealed at the DC FanDome event in 2020. The trailer showed the Suicide Squad members fighting against Superman, who appeared to be corrupted by Brainiac. The trailer also hinted at the involvement of other Justice League members, such as Batman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is not the only DC game in development, as Warner Bros. Montreal is also working on Gotham Knights, a game that will feature Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin as the main protagonists. Gotham Knights is expected to release in 2022 and will have a separate continuity from the Arkham series.
