What’s New in the iPhone 15 Series

The iPhone 15 series boasts several new features and improvements over the previous generation. Some of the highlights are:

  • Dynamic Island: This is a redesigned notch at the top of the screen that takes up less visual space. It also allows users to access ongoing activity such as directions or music from any screen.
  • Roadside Assistance: This is a new feature that lets users request help from AAA via text if they are stranded in an area without cell service. Users can share their location via satellite and get assistance within minutes. This feature is available for free for two years for iPhone 15 users.
  • Camera System: The standard iPhone 15 models have an improved camera system that allows for greater optical zoom and a wide depth of field. They have a 48-megapixel main camera sensor that can capture more details and colors. The iPhone 15 Pro models have three cameras and a new telephoto system that can zoom up to 5X with the physical lens. They also have a programmable action button that can be used to launch the camera app or other functions.
  • USB-C Charging: The new iPhones have switched from Lightning to USB-C charging to comply with European Union common charger laws. This means faster charging and data transfer speeds as well as compatibility with other devices that use USB-C ports.
  • Carbon Neutral Models: For the first time, customers can choose a carbon neutral model from each Apple Watch collection — Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and Apple Watch SE. This represents a significant milestone toward Apple’s plan to be carbon neutral across the supply chain and the entire life cycle of products by the year 2030.
