Joey King and Steven Piet Tie the Knot in a Fairy-Tale Wedding in Spain

Joey King, the star of The Kissing Booth and The Act, has married her director beau Steven Piet in a stunning ceremony in Mallorca, Spain. The couple, who met on the set of The Act in 2019, exchanged vows on September 3 at La Fortaleza, a 17th-century fortress turned villa that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.

A Dreamy Destination Wedding

The couple had always dreamed of having a destination wedding, but they were not sure where to tie the knot. They wanted a place that was unique, private, and grand yet intimate at the same time. They found their perfect venue in La Fortaleza, which they described as “the Spanish version of The Great Gatsby”. The historic property, which was featured in the BBC series The Night Manager, has a timeless charm that matched their love for each other.

“We truly felt so perfectly present, and soaking in every detail was pure magic,” King told Vogue. “Looking out from the altar at all of our friends and family was an unforgettable moment.”

The ceremony took place on the lower-terrace swimming pool, which offered a breathtaking view of the sunset. The bride walked down the aisle with her mother, wearing a gorgeous Oscar de la Renta ball gown with a sweetheart neckline and fabric flower petals. The groom wore a classic black tuxedo with a white bow tie.

A Celebration of Love and Laughter

The reception was held at the upper-terrace swimming pool, where the guests enjoyed a delicious dinner and a four-tiered cake. The newlyweds shared their first dance to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley, followed by a father-daughter dance to “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” by Randy Newman. The bride also surprised her husband with a choreographed dance to “Wannabe” by Spice Girls, which she performed with her bridesmaids.

The couple wanted their wedding to be a fun and memorable experience for everyone. They hired a band and a DJ to keep the party going until the early hours of the morning. They also provided personalized slippers, sunglasses, and fans for their guests to enjoy. They even had a photo booth where they posed with funny props and signs.

“We wanted everyone to feel like they were part of something special,” King said. “We wanted them to laugh, dance, and have the best time ever.”

A Romantic Honeymoon in Europe

After their fairy-tale wedding, the couple jetted off to their honeymoon in Europe. They visited several countries, including France, Italy, and Greece. They shared some of their adventures on social media, such as riding bikes in Paris, exploring ancient ruins in Athens, and sailing on a yacht in Santorini.

The couple also expressed their gratitude to their wedding planners Alison Bryan Destinations, who helped them plan their dream wedding amid the pandemic. They also thanked their photographer Norman & Blake and their videographer Shark Pig for capturing their special day.

“We are so happy and so in love,” King said. “We can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.”
