Larry David, the creator of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, is known for his sharp wit and biting humor. But he is also a vocal critic of gun violence and the Republican party, which he believes are responsible for the deaths of innocent children in schools.
Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, is one of the most influential and controversial figures in the world of technology and business. He is also a supporter of the GOP, which he recently announced on Twitter, saying that he would vote Republican because the Democrats have become “the party of division and hate”.

The two men crossed paths at the wedding of Ari Emanuel, the CEO of Endeavor entertainment company, and Sarah Staudinger, a fashion designer, in St-Tropez, France, in May 2022. According to a new biography on Musk by Walter Isaacson, David confronted Musk at his table and asked him bluntly: “Do you just want to murder kids in schools?”

Musk was baffled and annoyed by David’s accusation

Musk replied to David’s question with a denial: “No, no, I’m anti-kid murder.” He was reportedly baffled and annoyed by David’s accusation, which came shortly after a mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, that killed 19 students and two teachers.

David then pressed Musk on his political affiliation, saying: “Then how could you vote Republican?” He was referring to Musk’s tweet on May 18, 2022, in which he declared his support for the GOP and criticized the Democrats for their stance on issues such as immigration, taxes, and environmental regulations.

Musk’s tweet came just six days before the Uvalde shooting, which sparked a renewed debate on gun control in the US. Most Republican lawmakers opposed any new legislation to restrict access to firearms, while some blamed the shooting on “wokeness” and “indoctrination” of children.

David officiated the wedding of Emanuel and Staudinger

The wedding of Emanuel and Staudinger was a lavish affair that attracted many celebrities and power players from Hollywood and beyond. Emanuel is the brother of Rahm Emanuel, the former mayor of Chicago and the current US ambassador to Japan. He is also the inspiration for the character of Ari Gold in the HBO series Entourage.

David was one of the guests who officiated the wedding ceremony, according to Isaacson’s book. He is a longtime friend of Emanuel and has worked with him on several projects. David is also known for his impersonation of Bernie Sanders on Saturday Night Live.

Musk was another prominent guest at the wedding, as he has a business relationship with Emanuel. Endeavor owns a stake in SpaceX, Musk’s aerospace company that aims to colonize Mars. Musk has also appeared as himself on Entourage and The Big Bang Theory.

The confrontation between David and Musk was confirmed by Joe Scarborough

The tense exchange between David and Musk was witnessed by Joe Scarborough, the host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe. Scarborough confirmed the incident to Isaacson, who interviewed him for his book. Isaacson is a renowned biographer who has written about Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, and Leonardo da Vinci.

Isaacson’s book, titled Elon Musk: The Life and Times of a Visionary Genius, was released this week. It reveals many details about Musk’s personal and professional life, including his relationship with Grimes (real name Claire Boucher), his third child with her named Techno Mechanicus, his opinion of Donald Trump as “one of the world’s best bullsh–ters ever”, and his ambition to make humanity a multi-planetary species.
