Now access Digilocker services on MyGov Helpdesk through WhatsApp

To make government services more accessible and inclusive, MyGov on Monday announced that citizens will be able to use the MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp, to access the Digilocker service.

This includes creating and authenticating a Digilocker account, downloading documents such as PAN card, driving license, vehicle registration certificate and more on WhatsApp. For those unaware, Digilocker allows Indian citizens to access their original documents anytime, anywhere.

The documents stored in Digilocker have legality at par with the originals. It also helps provides a verification module enabling government agencies to verify data directly from issuers after obtaining user consent.

Now access Digilocker services on MyGov Helpdesk through WhatsApp

With MyGov Helpdesk coming to WhatsApp, the service will enable citizens to access the following documents:

• PAN card

• Driving License

• CBSE Class X Passing Certificate

• Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC)

• Insurance Policy Two Wheeler

• Class X Marksheet

• Class XII Marksheet

• Insurance Policy Document (Life and Non-life available on Digilocker)

MyGov Helpdesk (earlier known as MyGov Corona Helpdesk) on WhatsApp was launched in March 2020 and it served as a critical instrument in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. The helpdesk offered authentic coronavirus related information, vaccine booking details, information about vaccine centres and vaccine certificate downloads.

The new service will enable citizens to access the following documents with ease and convenience, from the safety of their homes.

WhatsApp users across the country can use the chatbot by simply sending ‘Namaste or Hi or Digilocker’ to the WhatsApp number 91 9013151515.
