Sam Asghari, the soon-to-be ex-husband of pop icon Britney Spears, is trying to cope with the media attention surrounding their divorce by making fun of himself on social media. The actor and fitness trainer posted a series of photos on his Instagram stories, asking his fans to help him choose a disguise to avoid the paparazzi.
Sam’s Hilarious Disguise Options
In the photos, Asghari wore different wigs and glasses, ranging from a gray-haired old man to a curly-haired hipster to a trendy TikToker. He captioned the images with “Help me choose paparazzi disguise” and added a poll for his followers to vote on their favorite look.
The 29-year-old seemed to be in good spirits despite the recent drama with his estranged wife, who he filed for divorce from on August 16, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple had been married for only one year and dated for six years before that.
Britney’s Shocking Statement
Asghari’s humorous posts came shortly after Spears broke her silence on the divorce on her own Instagram account. The 41-year-old singer wrote that she was “a little shocked” by the split, but did not want to explain why because it was “nobody’s business”.
She also thanked her friends for sending her supportive messages and admitted that her Instagram may seem perfect but it was “far from reality”. She ended her statement by saying that she was “actually doing pretty damn good”.
The Allegations Behind The Divorce
According to TMZ, Asghari decided to end his marriage with Spears after he confronted her about allegedly cheating on him and physically abusing him. Sources told the outlet that Asghari found evidence of Spears’ infidelity on her phone and that she slapped him during an argument.
Page Six also reported that the couple had frequent screaming matches and that Spears was “out of control” and “unstable”. However, neither Asghari nor Spears have confirmed or denied these allegations publicly.
