MrBeast Wins Creator of the Year at 2023 Streamy Awards

The 13th edition of the Streamy Awards celebrated the best of digital content creation on Sunday night, honoring creators in more than 45 categories across beauty, comedy, food, gaming, music, podcasts, sports and more.

MatPat Hosts the Live-Streamed Ceremony

The Streamy Awards were hosted by MatPat, the creator of The Game Theorists YouTube channel and a seven-time winner of the Streamys himself. MatPat entertained the audience with his witty jokes and interactive segments, such as asking viewers to vote for their favorite memes of the year.

MatPat also presented special Creator Honor awards to The Korean Vegan, Brittany Broski and Vivienne Medrano for their inspiring and impactful content.

The ceremony was live-streamed on the Streamys’ social channels and The Hollywood Reporter’s website, reaching millions of fans around the world.

MrBeast Dominates with Two Awards

MrBeast (real name Jimmy Donaldson) was the big winner of the night, taking home two awards out of the five he was nominated for: creator of the year and collaboration for his rock, paper, scissors video with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

MrBeast is known for his extravagant stunts and philanthropic efforts on YouTube, where he has over 80 million subscribers. He recently launched his own burger chain called MrBeast Burger, which has over 600 locations across the US.

In his acceptance speech for creator of the year, MrBeast thanked his fans and his team for their support. He also teased some upcoming projects, such as a $10 million Squid Game recreation and a free private island giveaway.

Other Notable Winners Include Jonas Brothers, Meghan Trainor and Dylan Mulvaney

Other well-known figures who won this year include Jonas Brothers, winners of the crossover category for their TikTok videos; Meghan Trainor, whose song “Made You Look” won the Streamys’ Rolling Stone collaboration, Sound of the Year award; and Logan Paul, who won the creator product prize for his Maverick clothing line.

Additionally, Dylan Mulvaney, a trans influencer who found herself caught up in controversy after she starred in a Bud Light social media promotion, won the breakout creator award. She dedicated her award to her fellow LGBTQ+ creators and urged them to keep making their voices heard.

Kai Cenat Wins Streamer of the Year

Kai Cenat was named as streamer of the year, beating out other popular streamers like xQc, Quackity and HasanAbi. Cenat is a Twitch streamer and rapper who has amassed over 1.5 million followers on the platform. He is known for his comedic commentary and reactions to viral videos and trends.

Cenat expressed his gratitude to his fans and his friends for supporting him throughout his streaming career. He also gave a shoutout to his fellow nominees and praised them for their achievements.

Michelle Khare’s “Challenge Accepted” Wins Show of the Year

Show of the year went to Michelle Khare’s “Challenge Accepted”, a YouTube series where Khare takes on various challenges such as becoming a firefighter, a ballerina or a WWE wrestler. Khare is a former BuzzFeed producer who has over 3 million subscribers on her own channel.

Khare thanked her viewers and her crew for making the show possible. She also shared a message of empowerment and encouragement to anyone who wants to pursue their dreams.
