Bill Murray, 72, and Kelis, 44, first sparked dating rumors in June 2023, when the Ghostbusters actor was seen attending the Mighty Hoopla festival in South London, where the Milkshake singer performed. According to sources, the pair had been in a relationship for some time and had bonded over their shared grief over the deaths of their spouses. Kelis’ husband Mike Mora died in January 2022 from stomach cancer, while Murray’s ex-wife Jennifer Butler died in 2021 aged 54.

The US Sun reported that Kelis was the one who decided to end things with Murray, as things just ran their course. A source told the outlet: “Kelis and Bill were — and still are — very fond of each other but things just ran their course. They both have busy schedules and after a whirlwind romance decided to go their separate ways. They hope to remain friends but also plan to get on with their lives.”

Neither Murray nor Kelis have publicly commented on their split, but the singer confirmed that they were not together on Friday, when she replied to an Instagram user who asked her if she was “really dating Bill Murray”.
