Today marks a historic day for the United Kingdom as King Charles is officially crowned. The procession began at Westminster Abbey this morning after anti-monarchy protesters were arrested.
The coronation ceremony was attended by the Queen, Camilla, Prince William, and Prince Harry. It was a momentous occasion that has been years in the making.
The event was not without its detractors however, as many anti-monarchy protesters gathered outside of Westminster Abbey to voice their opposition to the monarchy. Police were on hand to ensure order and ultimately arrested several protesters who refused to leave the area.
Despite these protests, King Charles’ coronation procession proceeded without incident and he was officially crowned at Westminster Abbey. This marks an important milestone in British history and a new era for the monarchy.
It remains to be seen how King Charles will handle his new role as monarch of the United Kingdom, but today’s coronation ceremony is certainly a cause for celebration.
