Madison College Fashion Marketing Program hosted its annual Embrace – Innovative Future Fashion Show on Monday, November 20, 2023, at the Truax Campus. The event featured the creative work of students from various programs, such as fashion design, graphic design, photography, and cosmetology. The theme of the show was “innovative future”, which challenged the students to explore new trends, technologies, and sustainability in the fashion industry.
The fashion show was a celebration of diversity and creativity, as the students showcased their unique designs and styles. The show included 12 collections, each with a different concept and inspiration. Some of the collections were inspired by futuristic movies, such as Blade Runner and The Matrix, while others were influenced by cultural elements, such as African prints and Japanese kimonos. The show also featured some innovative materials, such as recycled fabrics, LED lights, and 3D-printed accessories.
The show was organized by the students of the Fashion Marketing Program, who were responsible for planning, promoting, and executing the event. The students also collaborated with other programs, such as the Graphic Design Program, which created the logo and posters for the show, the Photography Program, which captured the images and videos of the show, and the Cosmetology Program, which provided the hair and makeup services for the models.
A showcase of talent and skills
The fashion show was not only a showcase of creativity, but also a showcase of talent and skills. The students of the Fashion Design Program, who created the garments for the show, had to go through a rigorous process of designing, drafting, sewing, and fitting. The students also had to consider the theme, the target market, and the budget of their collections. The students of the Fashion Marketing Program, who organized the show, had to apply their knowledge and skills in marketing, merchandising, event management, and public relations. The students also had to coordinate with the sponsors, vendors, media, and volunteers for the show.
The fashion show was a learning opportunity for the students, as they gained hands-on experience and exposure in the fashion industry. The show also gave them a chance to network with professionals and peers, and to receive feedback and recognition for their work.
