A Night of Mystery and Fun to Support Pets of Terminally Ill People

Safe Place for Pets, a nonprofit organization that provides care, support and rehoming services for pets of terminally ill people, is hosting a murder mystery dinner on November 5th at the Double Tree Hotel in Colorado Springs. The event is part of the Give! campaign, a local philanthropic platform that connects donors with nonprofits in the Pikes Peak region.

What is Safe Place for Pets?

Safe Place for Pets was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who wanted to help pet owners diagnosed with terminal illnesses. They realized that many people facing end-of-life decisions were worried about what would happen to their beloved companions after they passed away. Safe Place for Pets offers a solution by finding loving forever homes for these pets, as well as providing veterinary care, grooming, transportation and emotional support.

Since its inception, Safe Place for Pets has helped over 1,300 pets find new families. The organization works with hospices, veterinarians, social workers and other referral sources to identify pet owners in need of their services. They also operate a wellness center and a cattery in Manitou Springs, where they care for cats until they are adopted.
