Scoops Ahoy Brings Stranger Things Treats to Universal Studios Hollywood

Fans of the Netflix hit series Stranger Things can enjoy some of the show’s iconic treats at Universal Studios Hollywood during the Halloween Horror Nights 2023 event. The ice cream kiosk Studio Scoop on the Lower Lot has been transformed into Scoops Ahoy, the nautical-themed parlor where Steve and Robin work in season three of the show. In addition to the regular ice cream and shakes, Scoops Ahoy offers two specialty items inspired by the show: Eleven’s Waffle Sundae and Upside Down Milkshake.

Eleven’s Waffle Sundae

Eleven’s Waffle Sundae is a tribute to the telekinetic heroine’s favorite food: Eggo waffles. The sundae consists of mini waffles and vanilla ice cream covered in strawberry sauce, jelly beans, chocolate chips and Reese’s Pieces. It is served in a blue plastic boat with a Scoops Ahoy logo and a red spoon. The sundae is $9.99 and is available at both Scoops Ahoy locations: one near Jurassic World: The Ride and one near Transformers: The Ride-3D.

Upside Down Milkshake

The Upside Down Milkshake is a chocolate shake with a twist: it is served upside down in a clear plastic cup with a straw sticking out of the bottom. The shake is topped with whipped cream, chocolate syrup and a cherry. The cup is also decorated with a Scoops Ahoy sticker and a red straw wrapper. The shake is $8.99 and can be found at the same locations as the sundae.

Halloween Horror Nights 2023 Celebrates Stranger Things and Other Horror Franchises

Scoops Ahoy is not the only attraction that pays homage to Stranger Things at Universal Studios Hollywood. The park also features a maze based on the show, where guests can experience scenes from all three seasons, including the Starcourt Mall, the Russian base and the Upside Down. The maze also features lifelike animatronics of some of the show’s monsters, such as the Demogorgon, the Mind Flayer and the Demodogs.

Stranger Things is one of the many horror franchises that are celebrated at Halloween Horror Nights 2023, which runs from September 26 to November 3. Other mazes include Ghostbusters, Us, The Walking Dead, Killer Klowns from Outer Space and Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man. The park also offers scare zones, live shows, rides and more spooky entertainment for guests of all ages.

Halloween Horror Nights 2023 is a separate ticketed event that requires a reservation. Tickets start from $69 and can be purchased online or at the park.
