Colombo: The navy of the country has arrested 51 people who tried to illegally go to Australia by boat from Sri Lanka. There is a severe economic crisis in Sri Lanka. They do not get enough employment locally. Due to this, they are risking their lives to escape by sea to neighboring countries and foreign countries. Many people have escaped to Tamil Nadu by boat so far.

In this case, the Sri Lanka Navy has arrested 51 people who tried to escape illegally to Australia by boat in the middle of the sea. In a statement released by the Sri Lankan Navy, ‘Navy personnel went on a boat patrol in the eastern sea area of ​​Sri Lanka yesterday. Then a gang was coming in a big fishing boat. During interrogation, it was revealed that they were trying to enter Australia illegally by sea.

4th time in a week
This is the 4th time in the last one week that people are trying to escape from Sri Lanka by sea. The day before yesterday, 24 people who were staying in a lodge with plans to go abroad were arrested at Maravilla on the west coast of Sri Lanka. Similarly, the police arrested more than 100 people on 27th and 28th of last month.
